ESCANABA — A strong well-rounded effort from sophomore Mia Hauser helped Bay College volleyball to a four-set victory (24-26, 25-18, 25-21, 25-23) over Delta College here Wednesday.

“It was a really fun game tonight,” Hauser said. “My mindset during serving was to keep it in and stay calm and trust my teammates.”

The Norse jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first set highlighted by a pair of aces by freshman Hope Varoni who had four on the night.

The Pioneers scored back-to-back points to cut the deficit to one.

The Norse extended the lead back to three on a kill by freshman Ava Maki who finished the night with 10 kills to go along with two aces and a block.

The Pioneers pulled within one at 7-6 but Maki went on a three-point scoring run including an ace to put the Norse up 11-6.
