A Knights legend, an NSW Blue and a newcomer to the club will help Justin Holbrook reignite Newcastle’s premiership aspirations in 2026.

Danny Buderus, Brett White and Steve Hales were officially named assistant coaches this week to provide a strong group of support for the incoming mentor, who replaces Adam O’Brien.

It comes as NRL pre-season training kicks off on Monday 3 November.

Knights’ newly-elected director of football Chris James said the appointments signalled an exciting era for the Hunter organisation.

“Danny, Brett and Steve bring a wonderful blend of proven NRL experience, innovative thinking and genuine commitment to our club values,” he explained.

“Together, they provide the foundations for sustained success through developing our talent and strengthening our culture.
