FLORENCE, Ariz. (KVOA) - The Arizona Department of Corrections is preparing for the execution of Richard Djerf, a 55-year-old man who pleaded guilty to killing four members of a family in their Phoenix home in 1993.

Djerf’s execution by lethal injection is scheduled for Friday at the Arizona State Prison Complex in Florence.

Earlier this year, Djerf issued a statement apologizing for the pain he caused.

This execution will mark Arizona's second use of the death penalty this year. Convicted murderer Aaron Gunches was executed in March.
