Rowers are ready to hit the water for the annual Head of the Charles Regatta , which will draw thousands of athletes and even more spectators, as it does every year.
The largest three-day rowing event in the world is celebrating its 60th anniversary.

"It's a huge event," Race Director Brendan Mulvey said. "We have 2,700 entries representing about 12,000 athletes, and 860 clubs, and that also includes 45 states from the U.S. and 26 countries from around the world."
