IOWA CITY, Iowa —

Bennett Stirtz highlights a list of six former Drake Bulldogs who followed coach Ben McCollum from Des Moines to Iowa City.

Stirtz, who started his college career with McCollum at Northwest Missouri State, led the NCAA in minutes played per game last season at Drake. He led the Missouri Valley Conference in scoring (19.2 points per game) and steals (2.21 per game) and the conference's player of the year and newcomer of the year awards.

McCollum was hired after Iowa fired longtime head coach Fran McCaffery in March. His first season in Iowa City gets underway Nov. 4 against Robert Morris .
