LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A west Louisville neighborhood just got 280 more affordable housing units Thursday.
Louisville officials cut the ribbon on the Russell neighborhood's Eclipse Complex.
It serves families earning up to 80% of the area median income, or about $77,000 for a family of four. They'll offer one, two and three bedroom apartments.
The Eclipse is designed to have resident services aimed at improving health, education and financial stability.
"To see it come full circle, to fruition, where it's not just moving dirt or not just bricks, it's families that are living here, who's lives are being improved and changed as a result of their safe, quality and affordable housing," Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg said.
The city is currently about 33,000 affordable housing units short.
