CONEY ISLAND — The popular New York Aquarium Halloween “ Ascarium ” opened for its annual celebration on Saturday with five new marine-themed activities and an added weekend.

“‘Ascarium’ is a growing tradition here at New York Aquarium, with new magic added this year as more and more families make the event part of their annual Halloween traditions,” aquarium Director Leigh Ann Clayton told the Brooklyn Eagle. “Nowhere else in New York can visitors enjoy Halloween activities like magic shows, face painting and spooky scavenger hunts alongside encounters with over 5,000 aquatic animals.”
