Despite it being mid-October, City of Weirton electricians and Public Works Department staff were busy this week installing the community Christmas tree in front of the Millsop Community Center. A smaller tree is in place at the intersection of Main Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. City officials have noted the early start to decorating is to make sure everything is in place — including light displays made possible by the Weirton Area Chamber of Commerce — in time for holiday festivities to begin in late November.
