A dog with a reported “history of aggressive behaviour” was at large Thursday afternoon after a person was attacked and an officer shot at the animal, provincial police say.
Officers were called to Hensall, about 60 kilometres northwest of London, at about 1 p.m. Thursday, after a report of an aggressive “pit bull-type” dog attacking a pedestrian, Huron OPP said. The dog was running at large when officers arrived.
The animal posed an immediate threat to public safety, police said, and one officer fired at the dog that may have been hit, police said.
