Advocacy group stages rally in London to keep police out of schools

An advocacy group opposed to the presence of police in schools brought its message to London Friday.

Policing-Free Schools held a rally outside the Thames Valley District school board’s Dundas street headquarters as part of the organization’s Ontario tour, calling on the government to better fund schools and keep police out of the education system.

“At Policing-Free Schools Canada, we are dedicated to catalyzing systematic changes and a paradigm shift for the co-creation of transformative, healthy, equitable, life-affirming, liberatory, healing-centred and policing-free educational spaces,” director Andrea Vásquez Jiménez told the small crowd.
