The Route 107 bridge connecting Saugus and Lynn reopened Friday after emergency repairs to replace cracked deck panels.
The Massachusetts bridge, which spans the Saugus River, reopened at noon. It closed Wednesday at 7 p.m.
During the closure, crews worked around the clock to replace or repair 16 affected deck panel assemblies, MassDOT said.
On Wednesday, Massachusetts Highway Administrator Jonathan Gulliver said the closure was ordered after engineers saw a crack in one of the bridge's metal plates, which is what cars drive on.
The bridge is a temporary crossing that has been in place for several years while a new bridge is built adjacent to it. That bridge is scheduled to open in a month.
