BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) - Senator John Hoeven (R-N.D.), a member of the Senate Defense Appropriations Committee, condemned Senate Democrats on Thursday for blocking consideration of a key defense spending bill, warning that the move jeopardizes military pay raises and national security operations.

“Not only are Senate Democrats refusing to pass a clean, short-term continuing resolution to open the government, now they are blocking consideration of the individual appropriations bills,” Hoeven said in a statement. “This legislation would fund a military pay raise and support servicemembers’ families, while providing support for vital defense missions, including in North Dakota.
