CLEVELAND — Days after Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb and the owners of the Browns announced a $100 million settlement agreement that will pave the way for the team to play in a new domed stadium in Brook Park, the city has laid out the full terms of the deal.
One point not previously mentioned is the city giving the Browns an option to extend their lease at the current Huntington Bank Field on the lakefront for the 2029 and 2030 seasons should the Brook Park project experience any unexpected delays. The lease is set to expire on Feb. 1, 2029, but the new agreement says the Browns can extend lease on the same terms for a period of one year and exercise the option no more than twice.
