SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – OpenAI has ceased its AI app Sora from generating videos featuring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The decision follows a request from the civil rights leader’s estate.

OpenAI acknowledged that some content created by the video generator had been “disrespectful” towards Dr. King.

“We believe families should ultimately control how a person’s likeness is used,” said OpenAI.

The move highlights the company’s commitment to respecting the legacy of influential figures.

This action comes as part of OpenAI’s broader efforts to address ethical considerations in AI content creation.
