New Orleans Saints star running back Alvin Kamara has no interest in playing for another team, he said Thursday.
Kamara, in his ninth season with the 1-5 Saints, has been a recent subject of trade rumors, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Saturday.
When asked about the report Thursday, the five-time Pro Bowler hinted he would rather retire than play for another team.
“If I was a GM, I guess I would go to the player and say, ‘Hey, we’re trading you, just so you know,’” Kamara told reporters , according to Luke Johnson of the New Orleans Times-Picayune. “So if [Saints GM] Mickey [Loomis] comes down and says that, I’m going to go drink a piña colada somewhere.”
Kamara denied Rapoport’s report that Loomis asked him if he wanted to be traded.
