Officers were called to Hensall, about 60 kilometres northwest of London, around 1 p.m. Thursday after a report of an aggressive “pit bull-type” dog attacking a pedestrian, Huron OPP said. The dog was running loose when officers arrived. Article content

The animal posed an immediate threat to public safety, prompting one officer to fire at it, possibly hitting it, police said.
