ORANGEBURG, S.C. - Newly released footage shows the moments leading up to a crash that killed a South Carolina state trooper earlier this year.

Dashcam video shows the Aug. 10 wreck that killed Trooper Dennis Ricks in Orangeburg County.

The video shows Ricks performing a traffic stop on Interstate 26 eastbound at 2 a.m. on a white Nissan Altima that was driving along the outer lines of the interstate. Ricks is then seen getting out of his vehicle with his reflective vest on and approaching the driver.
