The University of Victoria ranked just shy of being one of the top 10 universities in Canada, according to a new ranking list published in October.
The Times Higher Education Canada University Rankings 2026 uses data collected from the World University ranks, and results are calculated using 18 performance indicators underlying five metrics: research environment, teaching, research quality, industry and international outlook.
A breakdown of their methodology is posted online.
UVic took the 11th spot, which was a three-way tie between Queen’s University and Simon Fraser University.
According to the report, there are 26.3 students per staff member. Seventeen per cent of the student population consist of international student, with the student total at 17,663.
