‘Investigation will examine circumstances, deaths of 4 individuals’
New Delhi : The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has ordered a judicial inquiry into the police action in Leh town on September 24, which resulted in the deaths of four individuals. The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notification on Friday, according to which an FIR (No. 144/2025) has been registered at Police Station Leh under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, covering offences including abetment, attempt to commit offences, causing injury, and obstruction of public servants. The inquiry will be conducted by a retired Supreme Court Judge Dr B. S. Chauhan.
