White House Office and Management Budget Director Russell Vought on Friday said the Army Corps of Engineers is pausing $11 billion of funding in projects in four states.
Democratic led cities including Baltimore, New York, San Francisco and Boston,will be impacted by funding halt.
“The Democrat shutdown has drained the Army Corps of Engineers' ability to manage billions of dollars in projects,” Vought wrote in a Friday post on the social media platform X.
“The Corps will be immediately pausing over $11 billion in lower-priority projects & considering them for cancellation, including projects in New York, San Francisco, Boston, and Baltimore,” he added, signaling there is more information to come.
