CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Three people were taken to the hospital after a fire broke out at an apartment in Westwood Friday afternoon, according to the Cincinnati Fire Department.
The blaze was reported just after 3 p.m. at an apartment building along the 3400 block of Hazelwood Avenue. Several callers detailed seeing flames and people possibly being trapped inside the building, CFD said.
Upon arrival, several people had evacuated the building and companies were able to locate the fire on the first floor and extinguish it.
First responders found two adults and one child in the building. The three were taken to the hospital, where they were treated for smoke inhalation.
The fire caused an estimated $75,000 worth of damage and displaced 15 adults and 13 children, the department said.
