When 33 year old Kamille Hibbitt brought her 7 year old son into Akron Children's hospital in Boardman he was clinging to life.
According to a complaint, staff called it the most critical case they'd ever seen.
His core temperature was measured at just 85 degrees, even while being warmed with blankets, heated IV fluids and a Bair Hugger device.
His sodium level was significantly lower than normal and "no pulse was detected in his legs."
Reports indicated that the child had weighed 44 pounds last year, but now was down to 29.
The complaint says Hibbitt told hospital staff she delayed seeking care due to visible bruises and fear of being accused of abuse.
Hibbitt allegedly claimed the child had been "throwing himself to the floor," in recent months.
