DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (WFIE) - It’s harvest time in the Tri-State area, and for local soybean farmers, this year is also a time of uncertainty because of prices.
According to the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Office in Daviess County, soybean prices are lower than they have been in several years, which could have near- and far-term impacts.
An area farmer whose family has worked the land in Daviess County for four generations says the price of soybeans has fallen so far, some farmers are wondering not what type of profit they’ll make this year but whether they’re even going to be able to break even.
