NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTNH) -- A document obtained by News 8 confirms that the family of Jaqueline Torres-Garcia, the 12-year-old girl whose body was found outside an abandoned New Britain home, filed the necessary paperwork to take her out of school and into homeschooling in the fall of 2024.
Karla Garcia, who has been arrested along with her sister and boyfriend in connection to the death of her daughter, filed a notification of withdrawal with the Consolidated School District of New Britain dated Aug. 26, 2024.
Jaqueline was a sixth-grade student at Pulaski Middle School at the time. The document said the family was moving to Farmington but did not include a new school district or first scheduled day of attendance at a new school.
