OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The University of Nebraska Medical Center hosted a daylong active shooter training exercise called “Operation Blue Echo” on Friday, bringing together law enforcement agencies from across the metro area.
The heavy law enforcement presence near UNMC’s campus was part of a planned drill to prepare for an active shooter situation on campus.
“We are bringing people in to make sure we’re working together and ready to solve a potentially real-world problem,” said Diane Mack, emergency management director at UNMC.
