Pitt volleyball survived a thrilling five-set battle at Notre Dame on Friday night, completing a reverse sweep against an unranked Irish team in a match that tested the Panthers’ poise and depth.

Playing without one of their starters and coming off a tough first ACC loss to Miami last week, No. 6 Pitt looked vulnerable early, dropping the first two sets in a hostile environment before rallying to take the match 3-2 (25-27, 25-27, 25-21, 25-23, 15-4).

Notre Dame wasted no time setting the tone, racing out to a 3-0 lead in the opening set — Pitt’s offense looked disjointed early and struggled to find its rhythm, with Olivia Babcock limited to just one kill.
