RED CLOUD, Neb. ( KSNB /Gray News) - Nebraska authorities say a former sheriff’s deputy has been convicted of possession of child pornography.
Zachary Pohlmeier, 31, took a plea deal this week in Adams County District Court.
Authorities said he was facing multiple counts of possession of child pornography after investigators found 36 files on his phone showing young boys and girls performing various sex acts.
According to court records, the Nebraska State Patrol started investigating Pohlmeier in 2024 after a cloud-based storage provider reported him to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Pohlmeier was fired from the Webster County Sheriff’s Office on March 7.
During his Tuesday hearing, the judge accepted his no-contest plea, finding him guilty on three charge
