WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - After three people died in a Dodge City fire, the grieving family is still processing the loss while the community supports them.

Daniel, Ruth, and Ismael Marquez died in their mobile home on Oct. 12 when it caught fire. Vicky Ortiz, a member of their family, said “it was like a dream, like a nightmare,” and Marisela Marquez, another family member, said that “prayers are what keep us going each day.”

Ismael’s sisters remember him as a hard worker who took care of the family after their dad died. Marisela said, “Ismael, as the older brother, happy, always enjoying the family, showing how much he loves us.”
