BOISE, Idaho — The Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG) is asking the public for help identifying the person responsible for illegally shooting and killing a cow moose in Adams County.

The moose was found on Wednesday, Oct. 15, near No Business Mountain, about 200 yards east of Forest Service Road 245, close to its intersection with the Middle Fork Weiser River Road, according to IDFG. Their officers believe the animal was killed between Oct. 10 and Oct. 12, around the opening weekend of general deer season.

There are no moose hunting seasons in Idaho's Southwest Region, as moose populations are low, IDFG said.
