LAS CRUCES, N.M. —

The Las Cruces Fire Department responded to a structure fire that left 7 injured early Thursday morning.

Responders responded to the call on Sacramento Street around 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16. Crews arrived on scene to find a home with heavy smoke and fire coming from the structure.

The fire was brought under control within minutes.

Seven people were transported to the hospital for evaluation, while one 46-year-old remains hospitalized with injuries.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time, and there is no estimated damage at this time.
