MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — St. Anthony Street in Mobile will be down to one lane next week as crews begin work on converting it from a one-way street to a two-way street, a City of Mobile news release said.
Work between Royal and Water streets will begin Monday, Oct. 20, starting at Water Street and continuing west towards Broad Street. Work will be done on the north side of the street first, and the street will remain one-way during that time.
After the street is completely repaved, signs and striping will be completed overnight to make the street a two-way street.
On-street parking will not be allowed in active work zones while the work is being done, and will only be allowed on the north side of Anthony Street once work is completed and the road becomes a two-way street.
