At a press conference on Friday, San Francisco city leaders said they are anticipating peaceful demonstrations on Saturday for the No Kings Two protest.
The San Francisco protest is happening in conjunction with No Kings Two protests around the country on Saturday, expressing opposition to the Trump administration. There are 60 of these protests scheduled across the Bay Area. The march and rally in San Francisco are hosted by Indivisible SF and National Nurses United. The organizers said they are planning for a peaceful event.
“We have been in touch with the event organizers and will work to make sure everyone is safe,” said San Francisco Police Deputy Chief Derrick Lew.
“In June, a similar protest occurred with no significant issues. We expect nothing different,” Lew said.
