Witnesses credit Barnsdall’s head football coach for preventing serious injuries when a bus carrying the high school football team was hit by another vehicle near Avant Thursday evening.

Coach Kylee Sweeney was the one driving the bus when the crash happened. Witnesses say that if it wasn't for his quick thinking, it could have been a lot worse.

It was the last day before fall break, and the Barnsdall Panthers were headed to Broken Arrow to face off against Summit Christian Academy in the big football game.

But just a few miles outside Avant, Head Coach Kylee Sweeney says another vehicle crossed the center line and slammed into their team's bus.
