LAFAYETTE, Ind.(WLFI) - "Getting a breast cancer diagnosis is really scary, it's just shocking to people."
Breast cancer is found in 1 in 8 women, but going through a cancer diagnosis to treatment can be a lonely feeling.
At the Franciscan Cancer Center in Lafayette, breast surgeon Dr. Constanze Rayhrer, is helping women through a diagnosis everyday.
She's typically one of the first doctors you see after a diagnosis. She's the doctor that will explain your next options to you and your best chances at getting rid of the cancer.
"Nowadays, we mostly do lumpectomies because we have the technology and advances in treatment, but some women still have to have a mastectomy," said Dr. Rayhrer.
A lumpectomy is where the surgeon removes pieces of tissue along with the cancer, whereas a mastecto
