After a busy week that included a high-stakes meeting with US President Donald Trump, Argentine President Javier Milei on Friday led a political rally in Buenos Aires.

Surrounded by hundreds of supporters, Milei stood on the back of a truck and called for "a last effort" from the crowds to back his party in the country's upcoming midterm elections.

He was warmly received by supporters, while a group of counter protesters also rallied nearby.

Argentina is holding its midterm elections on October 26 with the vote widely seen as a referendum on Milei’s policies.
