ALBANY — The New York State Capitol building has seen its fair share of tragedy and death — and some say the spirits of the past haunt its ornate, cavernous halls.
Built over three decades between 1867 and 1899, the state Capitol sits atop a steep hill in Albany, imposing and gargantuan. It is made of various dark stones, and unlike other American government buildings that seek to replicate Greek or Roman design, the Capitol looks closer to a European castle.
