The Montreal Canadiens will be without a key piece on their blue line for the foreseeable future.
Kaiden Guhle is expected to miss four to six weeks with a lower-body injury, the team announced Saturday.
Guhle, 22, has a goal and an assist through the first five games this season while averaging 19:14 of ice time. He has struggled to remain healthy, appearing in just 55 games last season.
The team will also be without forwards Kirby Dach and Patrik Laine, who are also dealing with lower-body issues and have been ruled out for Saturday’s game against the New York Rangers (7 p.m. ET on Sportsnet). Both are considered day-to-day.
The Canadiens have recalled forward Owen Beck from the AHL’s Laval Rocket on an emergency basis. In three games with Laval, Beck has a goal and two points.
