Agartala, 18 th October 2025 : Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury has strongly condemned the installation of unauthorized promotional flexes across Tripura, calling it a deliberate attempt to malign the state government and the Department of Tourism ahead of the Deepawali festival on October 20.

In a video message released today, Chowdhury clarified that the controversial flexes featuring images of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and himself placed above that of Mata Tripureshwari were neither designed nor approved by the Tourism Department. The placement of the deity’s image below political figures has sparked widespread outrage across the state, with many viewing it as a sign of disrespect.
