Nagpur: At least eight pilgrims were killed and several others injured after a bus plunged into a deep ravine at Chandshali Ghat in Maharashtra’s Nandurbar district on Saturday.

As the driver lost control of the bus while navigating the steep ghat road, the vehicle fell into the gorge. The bus was badly damaged in the great impact, as the passengers were thrown out of the bus.

Local villagers were the first to respond, before police arrived at the scene. The injured passengers were transported to Taloda Sub-District h, while those seriously wounded were referred to the district hospital.

The bodies of the deceased were sent for post-mortem.
