Former Briarwood Christian standout Christopher Vizzina is expected to make his first career start at quarterback for Clemson on Saturday vs. SMU, according to multiple reports.
Vizzina, a redshirt sophomore, played in the second half of a 41-10 win over Boston College last week after starting Cade Klubnik left with an ankle injury. In three games this season, Vizzina has completed seven of 14 passes for 37 yards and an interception.
The 6-foot-4, 210-pound Vizzina was a four-star recruit in Clemson’s 2023 signing class out of Briarwood, where he was a four-year starter. He has played in a total of 12 games in his college career, completing 26 of 48 passes for 227 yards and an interception, while also rushing for a touchdown.
Klubnik is officially listed as “questionable” on the ACC’s
