Armed with pithy signs — and a few frog suits — protesters stepped out Saturday, Oct. 18 for the second iteration this year of the nationwide anti-President Donald Trump protest dubbed “No Kings.”
Protests were expected to run throughout the day Oct. 18 in Michigan in places as far as the Upper Peninsula as well as in Grand Rapids and in metro Detroit.
Demonstrators have regularly lambasted the Trump administration for policies and tactics they say are increasingly authoritarian since the president’s second administration began, a take that has been slammed by the likes of the Michigan Republican Party Chair. The White House has referred to other protest concerns this year like immigration crackdowns, health care and the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein as lies.
