The National Weather Service said thunderstorms could form overnight Saturday into Sunday, Oct. 18-19, across southern Michigan, spawning high winds and dumping as much as 2 inches of rain across mid-Michigan.

The Detroit NWS office said storms that could form starting late Saturday will feature winds up to 60 mph and could even spawn brief tornadoes.

"Widespread rain and some t-storms overnight into Sunday morning, leading to rainfall amounts of between 1 and 2 inches most locations," the weather service said on X.

The weather office in Grand Rapids added residents should expect several rounds of showers and storms through Sunday.
