NEW ALBANY, Ind. —

New Albany Police are investigating after a woman was shot near the Floyd County Fairgrounds.

Around 12:40 p.m. Saturday officers received reports of a shooting near the 100 block of Fieldstone Court.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a woman who had been shot.

Police say the woman was transported to the hospital, with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspected shooter was identified and detained by officers at the scene.

New Albany Police’s Criminal Investigation Division will be leading the investigation.
