LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A suspect is in custody after a New Albany shooting left a woman in the hospital on Saturday.

According to New Albany Police, officers responded to a call of a possible shooting on Fieldstone Court at around 12:40 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18.

At the scene, police found a woman who had been shot. Investigators say she was alert and speaking to first responders.

The victim was taken to UofL Hospital and is expected to survive.

NAPD stated that a suspect believed to be the shooter has been detained.

The New Albany Police Criminal Investigation Division is handling the case.
