MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Grizzlies announced Saturday that guard Scotty Pippen Jr. will undergo a sesamoidectomy to address ongoing discomfort in his left big toe.

According to the team, Pippen Jr. is expected to make a full recovery, and a timeline for his return will be provided following the procedure. However, reports from ESPN say that the Grizzlies guard is expected to miss at least 12 weeks as he recovers from the injury.

Pippen, the son of Hall of Famer and Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen, joined Memphis last season on a two-way contract. He appeared in 21 games for the Grizzlies, averaging 9.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game.
