JANESVILLE, Wis. -- Janesville police arrested a man Saturday who they said was driving drunk near a "No Kings" protest and became combative with officers.

Police had closed South Main Street to vehicle traffic between East Court Street and St. Lawrence Ave. for the protest, which was held at the Marvin Roth Community Pavilion near the Rock County Courthouse.

At one point, a 48-year-old Janesville man reportedly drove up to the courthouse area and demanded access to the closed parking garage.

The man had no association with the protest or its participants. Police said he verbally berated officers and became aggressive. When officers tried to arrest him, the man allegedly resisted and one officer suffered a minor hand injury.
