Florida football starting safety Jordan Castell is available for the Gators' Oct. 18 game against Mississippi State, while starting cornerback Cormain McClain is a game-time decision.
The 6-foot-2, 213-pound Castell has been a three-year starter in the back end of UF's defense and has posted 22 tackles, one pass breakup and two interceptions this season.
The 6-2, 189-pound McClain has started three games this season, posting 12 tackles, one interception and one pass breakup. If McClain can't play, Florida will turn to either Teddy Foster or J'Vari Flowers as a starter at cornerback.
In all, eight players are out for the Florida Gators (2-4, 1-2 SEC), including running back Ja'Kobi Jackson, who has missed UF's last three games with an undisclosed injury.
