DEXTER, Maine (WABI) - Dexter Regional High School is currently a finalist of a nationwide competition, with the school sitting comfortably in the top 3.
Hundreds gathered for a T-Mobile sponsored football game on Saturday, as a part of the Friday Night 5G Light contest, where the top 25 qualified schools nationwide receive a prize of 25,000 dollars.
The check was presented to Dexter Regional High during the halftime of their game with Houlton at around 1PM.
The day also celebrated community pride and accomplishment, with the school looking to allocate funds to upgrade their athletic facilities.
Athletic Director Adam Gudroe says Dexter Regional High is one of few schools in the top 25 to not have stadium lighting to make Friday night games possible.
