Bail was set at $30,000 for Thomas Robinson, the former Reno police deputy chief arrested in a regional sting that targeted adults seeking sex with minors, according to court records.
Robinson, 52, appeared before Washoe County Judge Scott Pearson on Saturday, Oct. 18, where bail was set at $30,000 bondable or 10% cash. He told the court he would represent himself for the hearing and plans to hire private counsel.
Robinson was arrested on suspicion of soliciting a 17-year-old for prostitution and attempted child abuse for sexual exploitation. He was one of 13 people arrested Oct. 15–16 during a two-day operation by the Regional Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit, in which undercover detectives posed as minors online to identify adults attempting to exploit them.
