BROOMFIELD — A few critical mistakes stunted Broomfield softball — then seeded No. 2 in Class 5A — in the state semifinals a year ago, but that shortfall for the previously undefeated team only hardened the Eagles’ resolve for their 2025 season.

On Saturday on their home field, they took one step closer to avenging that heartbreak when they easily won their 5A Region 1 tournament, first defeating No. 32 Grand Junction Central with a 12-0 score in three and a half innings before blasting past No. 16 Grandview, 15-3, in four frames.
